: Fight Against Terrorism Splits Jubilee Coalition .

The crackdown on terror suspects by the government has now degenerated into a war of words between partners in the Jubilee coalition, with Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau filing a complaint against National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale for allegedly ‘threatening’ him.

K2Kamau says he received text messages from Duale after he appeared on a TV show on Monday, where he defended the government’s terror clampdown.

The Kigumo legislator who reported the matter at the Parliament Police Station says the texts pose a threat to his life since Duale referred to him as an ethnic chauvinist who is now very unpopular within the Muslim community.

“He went ahead and wrote me a very nasty text message saying; you are too small and an ethnic idiot to be known in this country,” I consider that to be very abusive and I have reported it to the police and hope that they will do the necessary investigations and as at right now, I feel that my life is in danger,” he said.kenya T

“I would want to ask him to come out where he is. I think too much power is in his head as we speak now. It is time for him to realise that this country is larger than he is and that these kinds of messages and threats will not cow us from commenting on what is true or on other topical areas that affect the country,” Kamau stated.

“At the end of the day who is actually Duale anyway (sic). That is the question we need to be asking him. He is there courtesy of the Members of Parliament from Jubilee and if we want to kick him out, it will not last a day to kick him out. Forget about the threats of resigning. I must however tell you that I am extremely disappointed by his remarks because Duale has failed terribly.”

Kamau was joined by eight other TNA legislators including Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko who tore into Duale for alleging that the government was targeting Somalis and Muslims in its anti-terror fight.

“Our brother, the Majority Leader Honourable Duale was playing politics. Unfortunately, that was irresponsible. I think for the position he holds in the coalition, he should have talked better. He should have known that both Muslims and Christians are looking up to him to secure their lives,” she said.

“All Kenyans are looking up to Duale because he is a leader in this country and he did not live up to what was expected of him,” she stated.

Duale last week threatened to withdraw support for the Jubilee government over what he termed as arbitrary arrests of his people.

He had stated that police were targeting Muslims and that since he was elected by the community, he would defend their interests.

He had also stated that it shall no longer be business as usual as he together with other leaders will not allow their people to be discriminated against
