Smugglers killed 15 soldiers in an exchange of fire in New Valley’s Farafra on Saturday evening, a military source said.
Three of the smugglers were killed in the Farafra Oasis attack, the Middle East News Agency reported.
The smugglers used heavy weapons and rocket-propelled grenades.
This is the second time this army unit is attacked by smugglers in less than three months, the agency added.
