Angola is preparing itself to participate in peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic (CAR), under the aegis of UN, announced on Friday in New York, USA, the Angolan Vice-President, Manuel Vicente.
The announcement was made in a ceremony organized by the Angolan mission to UN in New York, where Manuel Vicente is representing the Head of State in the general debate of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, taking place on 24 September – 3 October.
The Vice-president said that the country awaits to contribute to the resolution of the political and military crisis of CAR and member state of the International Conference on Great Lakes region (ICGLR), chaired by Angola, since last January for a two-year term.
He also spoke of the Angolan bid for the UNSC non-permanent seat for 2015/2016, promising, in case of the country being elected, to work with partners for the establishment of peace and international stability.
Angola has been supporting the humanitarian aid missions for CAR and training of the amred forces and police of the referred country

Angola se prépare à participer à l’opération de maintien de la paix en République centrafricaine (RCA), sous l’égide de l’ONU, a annoncé vendredi à New York, Etats-Unis, le vice-président angolais, Manuel Vicente

L’annonce a été faite lors d’une cérémonie organisée par la mission angolaise à l’ONU à New York, où Manuel Vicente représente le chef de l’Etat lors du débat général de la 69e session de l’Assemblée générale de l’ONU, qui aura lieu le 24 Septembre – 3 Octobre.
Le vice-président a déclaré que le pays attend de contribuer à la résolution de la crise politique et militaire de la RCA et de l’État membre de la Conférence internationale sur la région des Grands Lacs (CIRGL), présidé par l’Angola, depuis Janvier dernier pour un mandat de deux ans .
Il a également parlé de l’offre angolais pour le siège non-permanent du CSNU 2015/2016, promettant, en cas du pays d’être élu, à travailler avec les partenaires pour la mise en place de la paix et la stabilité internationales.
