ICT To Be Largest Contributor To Nigeria’s GDP by 2020 – Johnson // TIC d’être contributeur Au Nigéria De PIB En 2020 – Johnson

Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s minister of communication technology Omobola Johnson has predicted ICT would be the highest contributor to Nigeria’s GDP by 2020. She said this at the just concluded eNigeria 2014.

Johnson said ICT sector would soon displace the petroleum sector as the largest contributor to Nigeria’s national income.

Johnson said: “We know that the few agencies under the Ministry of Communication Technology working closely together can certainly deliver on the ICT mandate of the country.

“We believe that ICT has the greatest potential to eclipse oil and gas as the core source of national income if not the most reliable, contributing the maximum possible percentage of income to the country.

“So, by 2020, the year that we dream to be a top 20 economy, we believe that ICT will not only be contributing the maximum share to the national income, we believe that in terms of productivity, growth, and performance across all sectors, ICT will be a catalyst.”

« Si, d’ici à 2020, l’année on rêve d’être une économie du top 20, nous croyonsque TIC non seulement contribuera la part maximale au revenu national, nouscroyons qu’en termes de productivité, la croissance et la performance dans tous lessecteurs, les TIC sera un catalyseur ».
