In a statement to the press after the audience he had with President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the Chinese official said that “both parties (Algeria and China) are satisfied with the development of their bilateral relations in the political, economic, commercial, scientific and cultural fields.”
“We believe that the prospects in those fields are very promising,” he added.
Jiechi said having affirmed to President Bouteflika that China is “ready for an exhaustive and positive cooperation in infrastructures, notably in the sectors of telecommunications, electricity and roads.”
He also expressed the wish of his country to raise the level of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Regarding his visit to Algeria, the Chinese official said it “reflects the significant convergence between the presidents of the two countries on promoting the overall strategic partnership relations between Algeria and China.”
Reminding the friendship relations between the two countries, the State Councilor said that the competent parties in his country “will strictly apply the convergence between the two presidents and will ensure a deeper and broader development of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.”
The two parties “will make joint efforts to boost China-Africa cooperation to defend the common interests,” he added.
Moreover, the Chinese official hailed the “new achievements of the Algerian people, accomplished under the leadership of President Bouteflika in terms of the social and economic development.”
He further expressed China’s “full” support to Algeria’s role in the preservation of stability and development in the region and the world.
