US President Barack Obama has announced the establishment of The Obama Foundation, a few weeks before visiting Kenya for the sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
The foundation will be based in his political capital Chicago, resplendent with a community library.
In a video released in the new Twitter handle @ObamaFoundation Wednesday, Obama said the choice is an endeavour to come back home and thank the city for making him a man.
“All the strength of my life really came together and I became a man when I first came to Chicago,” he said.
The announcement came hours after Obama reiterated the importance of his visit to Kenya – the first ever by a sitting US President.
