The presidents of Egypt, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea and Chad will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Omer Hassan al-Bashir, the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) announced today.

Bashir has won a landslide victory in April’s general elections by winning 94% of the votes thus securing him a new term to extend his 26-years old rule.
The head of the NCP political sector Mustafa Osman Ismail told reporters today that they discussed preparations for the ceremony and attendance of foreign dignitaries.
Ismail added that besides the presidents, representatives of from Russia, China and other countries will also participate in the inauguration.
South Sudan government had previously announced that VP James Wani Igga would represent Juba in the ceremony. It is not clear if president Salva Kiir would end up attending.
