At the opening of this meeting that he co-chaired with the representative of the general inspector of the Ugandan police, Hamel presented the Algerian approach for the strengthening of AFRIPOL’s capacities, underlining “the importance” given by Algeria to this new mechanism.
For the Directorate General of the National Police (DGSN), AFRIPOL is “a cooperation platform likely to favour the strengthening of the regional and international police cooperation within the framework of the strategic alliance against terrorism and organized crime,” said DGSN in a communiqué.
He also reviewed the main phases of implementing the strategy of AFRIPOL, whose headquarters is in Algiers, highlighting its role in the strengthening of the values of peace, security and stability in the African continent.
These achievements are “the outcome of a unified African approach to continue the joint action in terms of deepening security cooperation,” he said, underlining that these results “will allow taking up the challenges and reaching effective solutions to the crimes facing the African countries, including the escalation of terrorist crimes, drug trafficking, money laundering and cybercrime.”

Pour la direction générale de la Police nationale (DGSN), AFRIPOLest « une plate-forme de coopération susceptible de favoriser lerenforcement de la coopération régionale et internationale de lapolice dans le cadre de l’alliance stratégique contre le terrorismeet le crime organisé », a déclaré DGSN dans un communiqué.
Il a également passé en revue les principales phases de mise en œuvre de la stratégie de AFRIPOL, dont le siège est à Alger, en soulignant son rôle dans le renforcement des valeurs de paix, desécurité et de stabilité sur le continent africain.
Ces réalisations sont “le résultat d’une approche africaine unifiéede poursuivre l’action commune en ce qui concernel’approfondissement de la coopération de sécurité,” a-t-il dit,soulignant que ces résultats “permettra à relever les défis et deparvenir à des solutions efficaces aux crimes face à des paysafricains, dont l’escalade des crimes terroristes, le trafic dedrogue, le blanchiment d’argent et la cybercriminalité.”
