Scientology Volunteer Ministers Change Lives in West Africa

Wrapping up six weeks in Cape Coast, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour leaves behind people whose lives are changed along with a new Volunteer Ministers group to carry on their work.

A Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour has been working its way through Ghana this year, providing training, seminars and one-on-one help. Holding a graduation ceremony the second week of August, the Tour completed its stay in Cape Coast and moved on to the town of Takoradi.

A recent Cape Coast graduation of those completing Scientology Volunteer Ministers courses, held in a bright yellow tent set up by the Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour, shows new skills, new outlooks and a greater ability to thrive. Which is exactly why the volunteers on the Goodwill Tour carry on with their work.

A very brief survey of some of those results show the value of the program.

“This course has helped me with the right tools for teaching,” wrote a man who completed the Technology of Study Course, which, he added, will help him help others learn and earn a better living.

Another man who had earlier studied physics, chemistry, biology and elective mathematics found the Technology of Study Course helped him bring his education into perspective. “This study technology has helped me identify the actual problems I had…and taught me how to handle these problems as I continue on the academic ladder.”

The Components of Understanding Course helped a man understand why people in the same house can be friends today and turn bitter toward each other the following day. The course also gave him solutions on how to do something about that if it happens again.

A woman who completed the Components of Understanding Course wrote that it “really helped me restore my relationship with people especially friends and family members.” She realized that “we have taken some basic but very important things for granted when it comes to relationship with people. Scientology methods of using Affinity, Reality and Communication in our daily lives are very helpful. The relationship between me and my sister has not been cordial at all but after taking my time to get into communication with her, things became normal and we are happy sisters again.”

Of the Integrity and Honesty Course, a woman wrote “It has impacted my life enormously…this course has actually broadened my knowledge as to how I can be right or wrong…and broadened my horizon to be able to relate to all manner of people around me.”

As the tour moves 82 km southwest to the town of Takoradi, the group will keep in touch with the fledgling Cape Coast Volunteer Ministers group to make sure the members continue to reach out to help others. If there is one thing a Volunteer Minister learns, it is the remarkable gift of their technology—and the ease with which they can help anyone with simple tools that address factors in life common to us all.

The Volunteer Ministers program was expressly intended for use by Scientologists and non-Scientologists alike. Anyone of any culture or creed may train as a Volunteer Minister and use these tools to help their families and communities. And all are welcome to do so.

Equipped with effective technology to resolve virtually any difficulty, Volunteer Ministers live by the motto: “No matter the problem, something can be done about it.”

The Scientology religion was founded by author and philosopher L. Ron Hubbard. The first Church of Scientology was formed in Los Angeles in 1954 and the religion has expanded to more than 11,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, with millions of members in 167 countries
