Sultan confirms which day is Sallah day

The Sultan of Sokoto and  General Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Thursday, May  as Sallah day.

The Sultan, in a press release issued and made available to newsmen in his palace Tuesday in Sokoto said the Sultanate Council moon sighting  and national moon sighting  did not receive report from any quarter across the country.

“The Sultanate Council Advisory  on Religious Affairs in conjunction with the national moon sighting  did not receive any report from various moon sighting committees across the country confirming the sighting of the new moon of Shawal 1442.

 fast will therefore continue tomorrow Wednesday, 12th May  as the 30th day of .

“Consequently, Thursday 13th May,  is hereby declared as 1st of Shawal, 1442 AH and the day of Eid-il-fitr.

“The Council prays that Almighty Allah accept our fasting and other virtuous acts in  and grant  all peaceful and blissful Eid celebrations.

“Wassalamu alaikum wa-Rahmatullah.”
