Algerian Qatari German Hospital Construction Officially Underway.

Construction has begun on the Algerian Qatari German Hospital in the new city of Sidi Abdellah, located west of Algeria’s capital. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Algeria’s Minister of Health and Population, HE Abdulhaq Seyahi, Minister of Finance, HE Aziz Faid, and other key ministers. Also present were the Ambassador of Qatar to Algeria, HE Abdulaziz Ali Al-Naama, and representatives from Estithmar Holding and Apex Health, as well as the Algerian National Investment Fund.

During the event, HE Aziz Faid emphasized the project as a testament to the strong bilateral relations between Qatar and Algeria. He noted that the hospital is a significant development, made possible by the support of both countries’ authorities, and is expected to improve healthcare services in Algeria. He highlighted the project’s impact on the healthcare and financial sectors, describing it as a strategic advancement equipped with cutting-edge technology to provide medical services previously unavailable locally.

From Doha, Mohamed Moutaz Al Khayyat, Chairman of Estithmar Holding, expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s swift progress. He stated that the hospital is a key part of Estithmar Holding’s expansion in the healthcare sector and praised the partnership with the Algerian government.

Eng. Mohammed bin Badr Al-Sada, Group CEO of Estithmar Holding, shared his satisfaction with the project’s commencement. He detailed the hospital’s features, which include 300 beds, 30 intensive care units, 15 operating rooms, and 40 outpatient clinics. The facility will offer specialized medical services, such as complex heart treatments and liver transplants, aiming to reduce the need for Algerians to seek treatment abroad. The hospital is expected to serve over 250,000 outpatient visitors and 25,000 inpatients annually and is scheduled to open in 2026.

Al-Sada expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved, highlighting the project’s role in advancing Algeria’s healthcare sector and benefiting the economy. He also praised Algeria’s investment climate and mentioned exploring further projects in healthcare, tourism, and construction.

The ceremony concluded with a site inspection, marking the official start of construction, attended by representatives from the Algerian government, Estithmar Holding, and the National Investment Fund.
