Emirates has expanded its global network with the addition of Madagascar as a new destination, marking a significant milestone for both the airline and the island nation. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, expressed excitement over the new route, highlighting the unique opportunities it presents.
“Madagascar is a new and exciting destination on our vast global network, unlocking a world of natural wonders, rare and diverse wildlife, and a rich, vibrant culture,” Kazim said. He emphasized that Emirates’ enhanced connectivity and premium travel options align with the Malagasy government’s goal to attract one million tourists by 2028, supporting the country’s growing tourism industry.
Andry Rajoelina, President of Madagascar, hailed the new Dubai-Antananarivo route as a historic achievement. “In just four months, through shared determination and hard work, we have successfully launched this long-awaited inaugural flight between Dubai and Antananarivo with Emirates,” Rajoelina stated. “This is a historic moment for Madagascar, and I am convinced it will act as a catalyst for tourism and economic development in our country. Madagascar opens its skies to Emirates, and through Emirates, Madagascar opens itself to the world.”
Rajoelina concluded with optimism, calling for continued collaboration to drive the nation’s progress: “Together, let’s continue to dream, build, and grow for the good of our nation.”
The partnership between Emirates and Madagascar is expected to significantly boost tourism and economic ties, offering international travelers easier access to the island’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
