AMVCA: Organizers announce call to entry for 11th Edition

The much-anticipated 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) has officially opened its doors for submissions, inviting filmmakers, actors, and content creators across Africa to showcase their talent and compete for the prestigious accolades. Widely regarded as Africa’s most prestigious film and television awards, the AMVCA continues to celebrate outstanding achievements in storytelling, technical excellence, and creativity in the entertainment industry.

Organized by Africa Magic in collaboration with MultiChoice, the AMVCA has consistently served as a platform to recognize the continent’s finest talents, while also promoting African cinema on the global stage. Speaking at the announcement, Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, emphasized the importance of the AMVCA in elevating African stories. The AMVCA is more than just an award; it’s a celebration of the rich tapestry of cultures, stories, and talent that make up Africa’s creative landscape. Eligible entries must have been publicly exhibited or broadcast between December 1, 2022, and November 30, 2023. Filmmakers and content creators are encouraged to submit their work through the official AMVCA website, with the submission deadline set for January 31, 2025.

The AMVCA has a storied history of catapulting winners to greater heights, with past recipients such as Funke Akindele, Kunle Afolayan, and Genevieve Nnaji gaining international recognition for their work.
