The agreement was reached during high-level talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Congolese counterpart, President Denis Sassou Nguesso. Both leaders emphasized their shared vision for a prosperous future, based on mutual respect, equality, and common development.

The two countries expressed commitment to improving trade relations, infrastructure development, and cultural exchanges. President Xi noted China’s dedication to assisting Congo in achieving sustainable development through strategic partnerships. Congo’s rich natural resources, including oil and minerals, are expected to play a crucial role in this growing collaboration.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed the importance of enhancing China-Africa ties, emphasizing that the partnership between China and Congo serves as a model for broader Sino-African relations. Both nations called for greater cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, aiming to foster greater economic integration across the continent.

The talks also touched on global issues such as climate change, where China reaffirmed its support for Congo’s environmental sustainability goals. With this strengthened relationship, both countries aim to set an example for other African nations in their pursuit of development and mutual prosperity.
