Nigerian radio personality Nedu Wazobia has addressed the recent controversy surrounding his podcast, The Honest Bunch, following the appearance of reality star Deeone. In a recent interview, Nedu explained that his role on the podcast was to play the devil’s advocate, aiming to foster open and honest discussions among guests.

The controversy began when Deeone, during his appearance on the podcast, accused social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) of being gay. VDM responded by alleging that Nedu exploited up-and-coming entertainers, trading sexual favors for podcast features. This exchange led to significant backlash and ultimately resulted in Nedu stepping down from the podcast.

Despite the fallout, Nedu has expressed no regret over inviting Deeone to the podcast. He emphasized that his intention was to facilitate candid conversations, even if they led to uncomfortable revelations. Nedu stated, I didn’t regret bringing Deeone to the Honest Bunch Podcast.

In a separate interview, Deeone revealed that his appearance on the podcast was a strategic move to expose VDM. He admitted to using Nedu as a trap to reveal VDM’s alleged true nature. Deeone expressed regret over the unintended consequences, acknowledging that Nedu was unaware of his plan. citeturn0search8

The incident has sparked widespread discussions about the responsibilities of podcast hosts and the ethical considerations of airing sensitive content. While some commend Nedu for encouraging open dialogue, others criticize the handling of the situation.

As the investigation into the allegations continues, both Nedu and Deeone have maintained their positions, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in public discourse.
