Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) experienced a highly successful Easter period in 2025, marked by robust passenger numbers and operational efficiency. Between Good Friday and Easter Monday, the airline conducted nearly 1,600 flights, transporting approximately 200,000 travelers—an increase of 4.5% compared to the previous year. Despite challenging weather conditions, SWISS achieved a schedule stability rate of 99%, underscoring its commitment to reliable service.
The airline’s Zurich Airport hub faced strong westerly winds during the Easter period, which reduced operational capacity and led to delays, particularly on Easter Monday. Additionally, limited aircraft reserves, due to technical issues, posed challenges in recovering lost time. Consequently, 73% of flights departed on time, a 7.7 percentage point decrease from Easter 2023.
European cities such as London, Berlin, and Palma de Mallorca were among the most sought-after destinations for SWISS passengers. In the United States, New York, Miami, and San Francisco topped the list for intercontinental travelers.
SWISS’s performance during the Easter period reflects its strategic planning and operational resilience. The airline’s commitment to maintaining high schedule stability and adapting to operational challenges positions it well for continued success in the competitive aviation industry.
