Cathay Pacific Launches Nonstop Hong Kong–Dallas Route

Cathay Pacific has inaugurated a new nonstop service between Hong Kong and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), marking the airline’s first major hub in the southern United States. The route commenced on April 24, 2025, with flights operating four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays utilizing the airline’s Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. 

Flight CX897 departs DFW at 11:55 PM, arriving in Hong Kong at 5:05 AM two days later. The return flight, CX898, leaves Hong Kong at 4:05 PM and arrives in Dallas at 5:55 PM on the same day. 

This new route expands Cathay Pacific’s North American network, complementing existing services to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver. By May 2025, the airline plans to operate 108 return flights per week across North America, including triple daily services to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. 

Cathay Pacific’s Senior Vice President for the Americas, Chris van den Hooven, expressed pride in the new service, highlighting its significance in connecting the southern United States with Hong Kong and beyond. DFW’s CEO, Sean Donohue, welcomed the airline’s entry, noting the enhanced connectivity it brings to Asia and other regions. 

The introduction of the Hong Kong–Dallas route underscores Cathay Pacific’s commitment to expanding its global network and providing passengers with more travel options between Asia and North America.
