China Southern Airlines Resumes Seasonal Perth-Guangzhou Flights

China Southern Airlines has announced the resumption of its seasonal direct flights between Perth, Australia, and Guangzhou, China, starting November 30, 2025. The airline will operate three weekly services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays utilizing its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Each flight is expected to provide over 780 additional inbound seats per week, significantly enhancing connectivity between Western Australia and China.

Perth Airport’s Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer, Kate Holsgrove, welcomed the announcement, emphasizing the positive impact on the local economy. She noted that the Chinese visitor market is invaluable for tourism, business, education, and exports. In the fiscal year 2024, approximately 75,000 Chinese visitors contributed $328 million to Western Australia’s economy. The direct flights are anticipated to further boost these figures by facilitating easier travel for tourists and business professionals.

The resumption of this service is a result of collaborative efforts between China Southern Airlines, Tourism WA, and the State Government. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Western Australia’s position as a key gateway for international travelers and to enhance trade relations with China, the state’s largest trading partner.

Tickets for the flights are now available for booking on the airline’s official website. Travelers interested in experiencing the convenience of direct flights between Perth and Guangzhou are encouraged to secure their seats early.

This development marks a significant milestone in the recovery of international travel and underscores the importance of direct air links in fostering economic growth and cultural exchange.
