Emirates has officially launched a new daily nonstop flight between Dubai and Hangzhou, marking a strategic move to expand its presence in China and meet rising demand for travel and trade between the Middle East and Asia. The new service complements the airline’s existing Chinese network, which includes Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, offering passengers and cargo customers increased flexibility and connectivity.
The daily service is operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft, known for its comfort, capacity, and long-haul capabilities. The flight departs from Dubai International Airport and lands at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, a key transportation hub in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province. This route opens up access to one of China’s most dynamic regions, home to a strong manufacturing base, a thriving digital economy, and growing demand for international air travel.
The addition of Hangzhou brings Emirates’ China network to four destinations, reaffirming the airline’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market. The move comes as China continues to recover from post-pandemic travel disruptions, with increased outbound and inbound travel fueling demand for premium airline services.
This new route also offers improved cargo options. Emirates SkyCargo will now provide exporters and importers with direct access to Hangzhou, enabling faster transit times for goods such as electronics, fashion, e-commerce products, and high-value machinery. The service is expected to support bilateral trade and promote stronger business ties between China and the United Arab Emirates.
The flight schedule is designed for optimal connections through Emirates’ hub in Dubai, linking Hangzhou to over 140 destinations across six continents. This ensures smoother transit for passengers traveling to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Emirates executives emphasized that the launch of the new service is part of the airline’s broader network strategy to meet evolving global travel patterns, especially in Asia. The route is expected to attract both leisure and business travelers, as Hangzhou is not only a technological hub but also a cultural and scenic destination, famous for its West Lake and historic architecture.
The inaugural flight received a warm welcome in Hangzhou with a traditional water cannon salute, symbolizing the beginning of this new connection. The new daily service is now available for booking across all channels, with the airline offering promotional fares and benefits to mark the launch.
