Emirates Logistics Launches Kenya Expansion to Strengthen East Africa Trade Ties

Emirates Logistics, a leading supply chain and freight forwarding company based in the United Arab Emirates, has announced plans to expand its operations into Kenya as part of its strategic move to strengthen its footprint in East Africa.

The expansion will see the establishment of a regional logistics hub in Nairobi, aimed at enhancing trade flows between the UAE and African markets. The company’s entry into Kenya is expected to bring in advanced logistics services, improved cargo handling, and increased supply chain efficiency for businesses operating within the region.

According to the company, the new operations will focus on freight forwarding, warehousing, customs clearance, and distribution services. Emirates Logistics also intends to tap into Kenya’s vibrant agricultural export market, offering temperature-controlled storage and air freight solutions for perishable goods such as flowers, fruits, and vegetables.

The decision to enter the Kenyan market is driven by the country’s growing importance as a regional trade and transport hub, supported by modern infrastructure, an expanding airport, and access to surrounding landlocked countries. Nairobi’s strategic location and active involvement in cross-border trade make it a key gateway for logistics operations targeting East and Central Africa.

The expansion is expected to create employment opportunities for local professionals and foster collaboration with Kenyan businesses in the logistics and transport sectors. Emirates Logistics has indicated that it will work closely with government agencies to ensure compliance with local regulations and contribute to Kenya’s economic development goals.

The company plans to roll out its services in phases, beginning with air and sea freight handling, and gradually expanding into e-commerce support and inland transportation. The move aligns with a growing trend of UAE-based companies investing in Africa’s logistics, infrastructure, and trade corridors.

With operations already established in several global markets, Emirates Logistics aims to bring world-class logistics expertise to Kenya, offering tailored solutions to support the region’s expanding trade landscape.
