ZBC digitalised studios to serve local music industry

THE Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Media, Information and Broadcasting Services has toured the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s Mbare Studios in Harare this Monday, to assess progress on the digitalisation programme.

According to ZBC Board Chairperson Ms Helliate Rushwaya, two of 10 radio studios have been upgraded with works to revive one of the oldest music recording studios already underway.

She told parliamentarians that the facility will not only be a technical asset, but a cultural landmark that will serve musicians across the country while promoting the growth of the local music industry.

Ms Rushwaya added that the digitalisation of studios aims to position ZBC as a dynamic, innovative and responsive public broadcaster anchored on service powered by technology and driven by national development goals.
