Ethiopian Airlines Named “Best Airline in Africa” by Skytrax for Seventh Consecutive Year

Ethiopian Airlines has once again been honoured with the prestigious title of “Best Airline in Africa” the latest Skytrax World Airline Awards, maintaining its unbroken streak for the seventh year running.

The national carrier also swept three additional awards in category-specific honours, including Best Business Class in Africa, Best Economy Class in Africa, and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering, marking six consecutive wins in each of these divisions.

Group CEO Mesfin Tasew praised the achievement as recognition of the airline’s unwavering focus on customer service, operational excellence, and innovation. “We are deeply honoured by this accolade, which reflects the dedication of every member of our team,” he said. “Ethiopian Airlines continues to set the standard for African aviation.”

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted commended the carrier’s achievement, noting that sustaining such a level of excellence over multiple years is “a fabulous accomplishment” that highlights Ethiopian’s role as a beacon of performance and quality in the region.

As Africa’s leading airline by fleet size, destinations, and passenger volume, Ethiopian Airlines operates a modern fleet of over 150 aircraft, connecting more than 160 destinations worldwide. The awards underscore its success in balancing expansive growth with consistently high service standards, reinforcing its reputation among travellers globally.
