Accor Enters Zimbabwe with Novotel Deal at Victoria Falls

Accor, the global hospitality giant, is expanding its footprint in Zimbabwe with the signing of a franchise agreement to introduce a Novotel property in Victoria Falls. This marks Accor’s first Novotel in Zimbabwe, complementing its existing presence under the Mantis Collection at Mbano Manor.

The new Novotel will feature modern amenities suitable for both leisure and business travelers, including conference facilities, wellness services, and dining options with views of the Zambezi River. Accor says the hotel will leverage international brand standards while showcasing Zimbabwe’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

“This investment underlines Accor’s confidence in Victoria Falls as a world-class tourism destination,” stated a company spokesperson. “Aligning with our global portfolio, the Novotel will serve as a bridge between comfort and local authenticity.”

The Novotel Victoria Falls property is expected to open in late 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and construction schedules. The project is being co-developed with local partners to ensure integration with community-led tourism initiatives and environmental stewardship.

Zimbabwe’s tourism authorities and local businesses have welcomed the announcement, noting that enhanced accommodation options are vital to attracting higher-value visitors and extending stays in the region. The new Novotel is projected to generate jobs in hospitality, boost business travels, and increase the town’s overall tourism capacity.

As part of the Novotel rollout, Accor plans to launch staff training programs and apprenticeship opportunities to build local hotel management expertise. The company said the project aligns with Zimbabwe’s broader agenda to scale up quality tourism infrastructure and deliver economic growth through strategic private-sector investment.
