Addis Ababa is currently hosting a major international agro-industrial exposition aimed at attracting global investors, showcasing farming technologies, and promoting value‑addition in Ethiopia’s strategic agricultural sector.
The expo, which opened today at the Millennium Hall, features exhibitions from over 200 local and international companies showcasing innovations in irrigation, mechanised farming, post‑harvest processing, and food packaging. Hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with private sector operators, the event also includes business forums, policy roundtables, and networking sessions designed to connect farmers, agritech firms, and financiers.
In his opening remarks, the Minister of Agriculture emphasized Ethiopia’s ambition to transition from raw crop exports to a more industrialised, export‑oriented agro‑processing economy. “We are leveraging our fertile lands and growing workforce to become a continent‑wide hub for agro‑industrial growth,” he stated.
Key features of the expo include:
