South African; Kaizer Chiefs Sign Tall Nigerian Striker in Bold Offensive Move

Kaizer Chiefs have officially secured the signing of Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro, bringing fresh attacking firepower to the squad ahead of the new season.

The towering forward, known for his pace, physical presence, and clinical finishing, has impressed over the past few seasons in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League. After spells with Chippa United and AmaZulu, Ighodaro now joins the Soweto giants on a long-term deal aimed at boosting the club’s goal-scoring record.

Club officials confirmed that the striker will link up with the rest of the team for pre-season training in the coming weeks. The signing comes after months of speculation, with the Chiefs looking to strengthen a frontline that struggled to convert chances last season.

“We are excited to welcome Ighodaro into the squad. His height, power, and eye for goal will bring a new dimension to our attack,” said a senior club official.

Ighodaro is expected to slot into the central striker role, providing a strong aerial presence and the ability to hold up play—something the team has lacked in recent campaigns. His arrival is seen as a key step in the club’s rebuild under new leadership, with several more signings expected before the transfer window closes.

Fans have reacted positively to the move, with many hopeful that the Nigerian striker can reignite the club’s push for domestic trophies and restore Kaizer Chiefs to the top of South African football.
