Mabika Triumphs in a Tense ZANU PF Re-Election

ZANU PF legislator Joshua Mabika has emerged victorious in a closely contested re-election marked by internal divisions and tense campaigning. The re-election, held amid growing factionalism within the ruling party, saw Mabika fend off stiff competition to retain his position as the party’s representative in his constituency.

Supporters gathered late into the night as vote counting continued under heavy security presence. The atmosphere was charged, with reports of minor skirmishes between rival camps during the build-up to the polls. Despite the tension, election officials declared the process largely peaceful and transparent.

Mabika, who has been a vocal figure within ZANU PF’s internal reformist bloc, used his victory speech to call for unity and renewed focus on grassroots development. He promised to prioritize youth empowerment, rural infrastructure, and job creation in the next phase of his leadership.

His win is seen as a strategic boost for his faction within the party, especially ahead of ZANU PF’s upcoming national congress. Political observers say the outcome could reshape internal alliances and signal a shift in power dynamics as the party gears up for future national elections.
