American actress and global icon, Danai Gurira, continues to elevate Zimbabwe’s presence on the international arts scene, with her latest casting in the highly anticipated remake of the Hollywood classic, ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’.
This will be the third retelling of the celebrated story, which originally captivated audiences in the 1960s.
The remake is being directed by acclaimed actor and producer Michael B. Jordan, who will also play the title role of Thomas Crown a billionaire thrill-seeker who orchestrates daring heists.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gurira has been cast as Crown’s trusted confidante, a key role that is expected to add emotional depth and intrigue to the film.
She joins a formidable cast that includes Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone, further elevating the film’s profile. Production commenced in London earlier this year, and the film is slated for global release in March 2027.
