ZIMBABWEAN champions, Herentals Queens, have set their sights on making a lasting impression at the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifier, which gets underway in Johannesburg, South Africa, this Friday.
The Students departed for Johannesburg early Friday morning, determined to better last year’s campaign, where they bowed out at the semi-final stage.
“We have prepared well for the tournament, and we know where we lacked last year, and we have put that right, and we want to make our nation proud,” Herentals Captain Tabeth Mutinhiri said.
“We have beefed up the squad. We know the challenges that lie ahead, and we are geared up for it,” Herentals Coach Garthly Chipuka added.
The winner of the regional qualifier will progress to the CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament.
Herentals are in Group C together with Costa do Sol of Mozambique who they play on Saturday, before clashing with Olympic de Moroni of Comoros four days later.
