A 19-year-old man from Chipinge has been jailed for an effective five years after being convicted of attempted murder.
Spencer Khosa was jailed after he attacked a local vendor with a machete following a disagreement over the price of cooked goat meat outside a bottle store at Chisumbanje Township in Chipinge.
The court heard that Khosa attacked the vendor with a machete striking him on the neck and left palm before he was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Khosa pleaded guilty to attempted murder and was initially sentenced to nine years in prison before four years were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
