For many of us we always get it wrong when it comes to wines as we do not know what wine goes with what food or what simply works for us. Here are some tips on how you can get it right on wines:

For red wine

Red wines are usually drier and more complex than whites, some reds can be light, sweet and fruity. Likewise, some whites can be bold and dry. Because of this, the rule of the game has always been white wine with chicken while red wine with beef but you can bend the rules as this is no longer the rule of the book. As, lighter red wines such as gamay which has a similar taste to Pinot Noir can paired with white meat.

For White Wine

On the white wine category some are more acidic than others coming mainly in two flavours; green apples and pears.
Chardonnay is one of the most popular types of wine available. It comes as a sparkling wine or a still one. Chardonnay wine is a complex wine with citrus and melon. For those with ulcers this can be avoided as this can be a bit harsh.
On this list the different types of white wines are suitable for sipping before dinner, with meals or with desserts. Some of the popular white wines include Chardonnay, Muscat which has a flavor of tangerine and oranges and Pinot Blanc which is made out of green apples and citrus.

For Dessert wine

The dessert wines they come as in five main types which are Sparkling Dessert Wine, lightly Sweet Dessert Wine, richly Sweet Dessert Wine, Sweet Red Wine and the Fortified Wine.

For those with a sweet tongue, Riesling will do them good as it is a bit acidic but sweet at the same time. Often served with chicken, fish, and other white meats these goes down well.

So next time you want to enjoy your wine, you now have the guide to get it right.
