Tefu Trying To Forget MTN8 Triumph

TEfu

Kaizer Chiefs stand-in captain Tefu Mashamaite says the honeymoon is over following their MTN8 triumph as Amakhosi prepare for their Absa Premiership clash with Maritzburg United.

Chiefs edged Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0 to cup honours on the weekend, with Mashamaite getting the goal at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The League leaders, however, will have to sharply regain focus for the visit of United on Saturday – the same team they were yesterday drawn to face in their Telkom Knockout opener next month.

“The games are coming thick and fast… the quicker we get what happened over the weekend out of our mind and start preparing for the road ahead the better,” says Mashamaite.

“We don’t have too much time to celebrate and we have a game on Saturday against Maritzburg United,” he adds.

Stuart Baxter’s men boast a perfect record from 10 games this season, but Mashamaite says they will not be underestimating the Team of Choice.

“We are playing Maritzburg United who we know are always on top of their game when we play them both at home and away.

“The preparations start on Tuesday at training.

“We will have a couple of sessions of video analysis and prepare well against them,” concludes the Limpopo-born defender.
