On 17 February, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and UN Women will host a high-level virtual roundtable to discuss concrete recommendations on how to “build back better” for women and girls.

The ‘Rebuild, boost, transform – gender approaches for an inclusive recovery’ roundtable will be co-hosted by EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.

Government leaders, policymakers, private sector participants, development partners, and practitioners will discuss the effect of the pandemic on women and men, with women being disproportionately affected. Panellists will explore opportunities for closer cooperation between financing and development institutions and policymakers to ensure women’s participation in the economy and address income inequalities through stimulus packages and by incorporating gender approaches into the recovery.
