Siya Kolisi Set to Reach 100 Springbok Caps in 2024 as He Continues His Rugby Journey

Siya Kolisi

Siya Kolisi, the inspirational Springbok captain, is expected to reach the 100-cap milestone in 2024, provided he remains injury-free and continues to be selected for upcoming tests. Kolisi is currently approaching the centurion mark, an achievement that few players reach, reflecting years of dedication and leadership on the field.

With the Springboks typically playing a series of international fixtures throughout the year, including the Rugby Championship and end-of-year tours, Kolisi has a strong chance of hitting this milestone during one of these events next year. His 100th cap will likely be celebrated with fanfare, as Kolisi is a beloved figure in South African rugby and globally, having led the Springboks to a historic World Cup victory in 2019 and potentially another in 2023.

his week, the Springbok captain dropped a bombshell when he announced that he and his wife Rachel were ending their marriage. After much reflection and open conversations, we have decided to end our marriage. This comes a few months after Siya Kolisi left Racing 92 in France.

When I arrived in Paris, I didn’t know what the future of my international career was but when I started playing for the national team again (in June), I realised that my body has no rest, said the Springbok captain. And above all, if I play for South Africa, I miss three months of the Top 14 season. I am very well paid and it makes me feel like I am stealing from Racing.

So, for me, my physical health and the club, I want to do what is right, I don’t want to only invest half of myself. When they recruited me, they thought they had a full-time Siya Kolisi, he said. In September, it was announced that the Boks skipper had made a return to the Cell C Sharks.
