flynas, the Middle East’s major low-cost carrier, is significantly expanding its Egyptian routes with new direct flights between Madinah and Cairo. This marks a further milestone in its ambitious growth strategy.
Starting December 11, the airline will operate three weekly flights connecting Prince Muhammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport to Sphinx Airport. This both strengthens the airline’s presence in the Egyptian capital and also supports Saudi Arabia’s progressive aviation sector goals. The new flights, scheduled for Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, represent a strategic expansion of flynas’ network from its Madinah Airport base.
This development aligns perfectly with the airline’s comprehensive “We Connect the World to the Kingdom strategy and actively supports Saudi Arabia’s forward-thinking National Civil Aviation Strategy.
The national initiative sets ambitious targets to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations. It seeks to accommodate 330 million passengers, and welcome 150 million tourists annually by 2030. It plans to simultaneously enhance accessibility to the Two Holy Mosques through the innovative Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP).
Currently, flynas maintains an impressive network of connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, operating over 120 weekly direct flights. These comprehensive services link five major Saudi cities – Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, and Al-Ula – with popular Egyptian destinations including Cairo, Sohag, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and El Alamein.
In Cairo specifically, flynas offers enhanced flexibility by serving both Cairo International Airport and Sphinx International Airport, with direct connections from Riyadh, Jeddah, and soon, Madinah. The airline’s expansion plans extend beyond Egypt, with a strategic focus on strengthening its African presence.
Beginning January 2024, flynas will launch new routes to Uganda and Djibouti, further diversifying its international network. Starting January 8, the airline will operate three weekly flights between Riyadh and Entebbe, Uganda, complemented by three weekly flights connecting Jeddah with Djibouti.
These new African routes demonstrate flynas’ commitment to expanding its geographical footprint while supporting Saudi Arabia’s broader aviation objectives.
Since its inception in 2007, flynas has established itself as a leading force in regional aviation, successfully transporting over 80 million passengers across its growing network. The airline currently operates more than 1,500 weekly flights to over 70 carefully selected destinations, providing travelers with convenient and cost-effective travel options. Looking ahead, flynas has set an ambitious target to expand its network to 165 domestic and international destinations, directly supporting the transformative objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
This substantial growth trajectory reflects flynas’ firm commitment to developing Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector. The airline’s expansion strategy not only serves to strengthen international trade and tourism links but also positions Saudi Arabia as a key player in the global aviation landscape.
Through these strategic developments, flynas continues to demonstrate its ability to adapt and grow while maintaining its reputation for reliability and customer service excellence in the competitive aviation market.
