Liberia: Maryland Technology College Explores Web Development Endowments

Maryland Technology College (MTC) in Liberia is actively seeking endowments to enhance its web development programs. This initiative aims to provide students with comprehensive training in web design, development, graphic design, and business, thereby equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital economy.

MTC offers a Web Development Certificate program that blends core web development courses with business, communications, management, and general studies. The program can be completed on a part-time basis and is designed to be finished in just two semesters. Credits earned are applicable to MTC’s Interactive Media associate’s degree program. Students are also prepared for industry certifications such as the Adobe Certified Associate in Photoshop.

Graduates of the program will be able to:

* Identify common IT professions and apply basic IT tools to solve problems.

* Build software applications using programming languages.

* Create web applications that allow users to create, retrieve, update, and delete data stored in a database.

* Perform technical support tasks for video production.

* Develop a portfolio of digitally manipulated images.

* Apply project management techniques including project charter, time, risk, change management, budgeting, and team dynamics.

* Develop a marketing plan incorporating new product, promotions, sales ideas, and strategies.

* Use technology tools efficiently and effectively to perform personal and professional tasks.

* Communicate effectively both written and orally.
