Air Transat has announced a new non-stop flight route connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Cheddi Jagan International Airport (GEO) in Georgetown, Guyana, for the 2025–26 winter season. This service will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from December 16, 2025, to April 24, 2026. The flights will be conducted using the Airbus A321LR, known for its fuel efficiency and advanced cabin features, including ergonomic seating and an enhanced inflight entertainment system.
This addition expands Air Transat’s presence in South America and responds to strong demand from the Guyanese diaspora in Canada. Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer of Transat, emphasized that the new route also caters to leisure travelers seeking new destinations. The flights are subject to regulatory approvals and are expected to be available for booking shortly.
Air Transat’s winter 2025–26 program will also include other new routes, such as direct flights from Montreal and Toronto to Lima and Marrakesh, further enhancing its network in South America and North Africa. The airline’s overall schedule will feature nearly 300 non-stop flights per week from seven Canadian cities, including Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Ottawa, London, Halifax, and Moncton, to more than 30 destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, and North Africa.
Travelers interested in the new Toronto–Georgetown route can look forward to a comfortable and efficient travel experience, with convenient flight times and the opportunity to explore the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Guyana.
