Shell, through its Kenyan distributor Vivo Energy Kenya, has introduced a new range of advanced fuels into the Kenyan market, aiming to provide motorists with improved engine performance and fuel efficiency.
The newly unveiled fuel lineup includes Shell V-Power Unleaded, Shell FuelSave Unleaded, and Shell FuelSave Diesel. These fuels have been reformulated with cutting-edge cleaning agents and performance-enhancing technology. Notably, the new Shell FuelSave Unleaded is designed to last up to 15 kilometers longer per tank, offering drivers extended mileage.
Hans Paulsen, Executive Vice President East at Vivo Energy, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation during the launch event. “Shell is constantly in the pursuit of delivering more, whether it’s delivering more mileage or more enjoyable and comfortable journeys. Today we launch our next generation Shell fuels that give you more mileage, more engine cleanliness and protection, and a smoother drive. Now, Kenyans can expect more from Shell fuels,” he stated.
The introduction of these advanced fuels comes in the wake of earlier concerns regarding the quality of Shell V-Power fuel in Kenya. In February 2025, social media reports questioned the fuel’s quality, prompting Vivo Energy Kenya to commission independent tests through Intertek Testing Services. The results confirmed that Shell V-Power in Kenya fully meets its intended Research Octane Number (RON) of 95, reaffirming the high standards upheld across the network.
With the launch of these improved fuels, Shell aims to reinforce its position in the Kenyan market by offering products that not only meet but exceed customer expectations in terms of performance and efficiency.
