Ghana-Morocco Strengthen Ties with New Visa-Free Travel Deal

Ghanaians can now travel to Morocco without a visa, following the implementation of a new visa-free policy between the two nations. The announcement marks a major step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and the North African kingdom.

Under the new arrangement, Ghanaian passport holders will be allowed entry into Morocco for short stays without the need to obtain a visa beforehand. The development is expected to boost travel for tourism, business, education, and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Authorities say the policy reflects a growing spirit of African cooperation and regional integration, easing mobility across the continent and creating new opportunities for trade and partnerships. It also aligns with the broader vision of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), of which both countries are key participants.

The visa waiver is expected to encourage more Ghanaians to explore Morocco’s thriving cities, historic sites, and commercial hubs, while also inviting Moroccan visitors to experience Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and investment climate.

Travelers have been advised to ensure their passports are valid for at least six months and to comply with all entry requirements upon arrival in Morocco. The visa-free policy takes immediate effect.
