AMBITIOUS Premier Soccer League new boys, MWOS FC reclaimed top spot after beating struggling Highlanders by a goal to nil at Babourfields Stadium this Sunday.
Highlanders, who recently changed guard after sacking head coach, Kelvin Kaindu failed to register a change in fortunes as they failed to keep a clean sheet in their own backyard.
Highlanders were restricted to do defensive duties for some time as the Punters piled pressure to break the deadlock despite playing away from home.
Reward finally came with less than 10 minutes for Lloyd Mutasa’s charges, who capitalised on Simba Bhora’s draw this Saturday, to move to the apex of the league standings with 18 matches played.
Elsewhere, Harare giants, CAPS United could not complete a season double over Green Fuel as they could only reap a point at Rufaro Stadium.
The Ian Bakala-coached side, who have shown signs of life lately, remain rooted in the bottom half of the log standings with 20 points, 16 of which were earned during Bakala’s reign.
