ZIMBABWE’S rising Taekwondo star, Natsiraishe Maritsa, has been appointed one of the three new sustainability ambassadors by World Taekwondo.
Maritsa will serve as a Champion for Diversity, Equity, and Community Inclusion, helping to raise awareness and support young people across the global Taekwondo community.
At just 21, Maritsa has already made a lasting impact through Taekwondo, having founded the Vulnerable Underaged People’s Auditorium (VUPA), using sport to empower young girls in Epworth to stand up against child sexual exploitation and gender inequality.
Four years ago, Maritsa won the International Olympic Committee African Champion Award.
The other sustainability ambassadors are Beth Munro of Great Britain, a Paralympic silver medallist, and European champion together with Kenyan Faith Ogallo, an accomplished African Games medallist.
