THE Zimbabwe under-19 Men’s cricket team is seeking a change of fortunes when they face Bangladesh in a Youth One Day International set for Harare Sports Club this Friday.
It has not been looking well for the hosts, as they are yet to win a match in the triangular series against South Africa and Bangladesh.
In their first match, Zimbabwe went down by 278 runs against South Africa, followed by a 91-run loss to Bangladesh in their second match.
They lost again to South Africa by 107 runs despite a strong partnership by Michael Blignaut and Simbarashe Mudzengerere.
The Young Chevrons will be seeking their first win this Friday as they take on the Asians in the fourth match of the series.
The tournament will run until the 10th of August, and the tri-series is a crucial roadmap for the Zimbabwe youth side to prepare for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2026.
Zimbabwe will host the 16th edition of the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 together with neighbours Namibia.
