THOUSANDS of ZANU PF supporters converged in Epworth this Thursday for a star rally to drum up support for the party’s Ward Six candidate in by-elections slated for Saturday.
The electorate in Epworth are celebrating infrastructure projects such as roads and boreholes that have been availed by the ZANU PF leadership.
A rally held ahead of the Epworth ward 6 by-election saw the ZANU PF Harare Provincial leadership expressing confidence of victory.
“The party has done enough ground work and you can see from the numbers that people are relating with the party’s development programmes,” said ZANU PF Harare province chairperson, Cde Godwills Masimirembwa.
ZANU PF National Commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha expressed confidence in the electorate, citing several projects that have been rolled out for the community as an advantage for the ruling party.
“I am confident that the numbers we are witnessing here will translate into our votes. I urge you to come out in your numbers and ensure a resounding victory for the party. President Mnangagwa is committed to change the livelihoods of the people under the mantra leaving No One and No place behind,” he said.
The local authority seat has been under the opposition since 2000.
