Angola, Italy Interested in Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

The governments of Angola and Italy reaffirmed on Monday in Luanda their interest to strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation.

This was expressed by the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, and the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, at the end of the meeting held at presidential palace in Luanda, under the visiting programme of the European official to the country.

José Eduardo dos Santos and Matteo Renzi mentioned the setting up of partnership in Oil and Gas field and the increased cooperation in the area of food production, as top priorities.

They also backed the need and importance to hold an International Conference on Security in Gulf of Guinea, scheduled to take place in Angola at a date still to be specified.
