Today Lagosians is witnessing the battle of likely foes It will as Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State battles his god father and political benefactor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over who becomes the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in today’s tension griped primary holding at Onikan Stadium, Ikoyi.
It is evidemtly correct and believed that Bola Tinubu wants his anointed aspirant, Akinwunmi Ambode to clinch the all important ticket, insiders who spoke with The Afrika Market on the condition of anonymity are alleging that Fashola and his team are working round the clock to ensure that his bosom friend and colleague in the law profession, Supo Shasore floors Tinubu’s boy and becomes the party’s standard bearer.
Another strong contender in the keenly contested race is Dr. Leke Pitan, whom many are alleging is being sponsored by the new emerging force in Lagos politics, Dr. Muiz Banire.
Other aspirants in today’s primary are: the current Commissioner for Works, Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji; the Senator representing Lagos-West senatorial district, Ganiyu Solomon; a former aide to Tinubu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Mr. Adekunle Disu, Mr. Wahab Tokunbo, Mr. Olanrewaju Ope and a former Commissioner for Rural Affairs, Mr. Tola Kasali.
