The document was signed in Cairo by Minister of National Planning and Environment Dalila Boudjemaa and his Egyptian counterpart Khaled Fahmi, on the sidelines of the 15thsession of African Ministerial Conference on Environment.
The agreement provides for the “sharing of experiences between the two countries, the drawing-up of joint projects in the fight against desertification and climate change, as well as the conservation of wetlands and protected areas,” said the source.
Boudjemaa participated in the African Ministerial Conference, held in Cairo in presence of different international organizations in charge of environmental issues.
Several issues were addressed during this session, including the management of Africa’s natural capital for sustainable development, as well as climate change, in preparation for the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Paris in December 2015, the source added.
