The issues are so prevalent that AEDF is offering help. Starting March 18, the nonprofit will conduct seminars to educate entrepreneurs on the basic tenets of running a business. The March 18 session from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at teh Algiers Regional Library will cover marketing. A roundtable in May will look at small business banking and capital. Future sessions will cover disaster preparedness and staffing.
Martin said the courses were determined after surveying businesses through the foundation’s retention effort. “We started polling businesses to see how they are doing and we began to hear similar problems.”
The sessions are limited to 25 participants, and 19 have signed up for the first class.
