Spanish and Moroccan authorities arrested 14 suspected recruiters for ISIS, the Spanish Interior Ministry announced Tuesday.

Those arrested are suspected of capturing and sending foreign fighters to areas of Iraq and Syria controlled by ISIS.

The suspects are being held in the suburbs of Madrid and various cities in Morocco.

The arrests took place in the San Martin de la Vega area of Madrid and in Fez, Casablanca, Nador, al-Hoceima, and Driouech in Morocco.

The statement released by the Spanish Interior Ministry did not say what prompted the arrests. The investigation is ongoing, it said.
