THE ruling ZANU PF party is walking the talk on its promises to support youths across the country, with youths in Masvingo Province being the latest to benefit from the Youth Empowerment Scheme.
In a move meant to bolster agricultural productivity, five tractors were handed over to youths across Masvingo Province this Saturday at a ZANU PF inter-district meeting held at Masvingo Polytechnic College.
Beneficiaries of the programme said the lives of young people are being transformed, thanks to the Second Republic’s focused empowerment initiatives.
“As Masvingo Province, we are grateful that we have benefited from several Youth Empowerment programmes that have been rolled out by the Second Republic. We were the first to benefit from the Munhumutapa Youth Empowerment Programme, and today we are receiving these tractors. We are grateful. Through the various empowerment initiatives being rolled out by the government, the lives of youths have improved progressively. We will now contribute to the development of the country’s agricultural sector, and also, empowering youths means we now have something to do, and we will stay away from drug and substance abuse,” a beneficiary noted.
Meanwhile, the Masvingo ZANU PF provincial leadership has started mobilising resources for the Party’s Annual People’s conference set for Mutare.
“We are preparing for the Annual People’s Conference in October, and we have noted that all party members in Masvingo Province are rallying behind Resolution Number 1. They want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to continue implementing his development mantra up to 2030 and beyond,” Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Ezra Chadzamira said.
“As Masvingo Province, we are conducting inter-district meetings, noting down the party members’ resolutions, which we will take up with our leaders at the upcoming Annual People’s Conference. We have covered six districts, and we are only left with one. We want to know the wishes of the party members from their party, ZANU PF, and the government. So far, what we have gathered from the districts we have been to is that they all want the current development trajectory, which is being implemented by the Second Republic led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, to continue,” ZANU PF Masvingo Provincial Chairman, Cde Robson Mavenyengwa added.
The ZANU PF annual People’s Conference is set to take place from the 13th to the 18th of October at Mutare Polytechnic College in Manicaland Province.
