FORMER players who played alongside the late Tendai Ndoro have described his demise as a big void that will be difficult to fill.
Former Highlanders player, now based in the United Kingdom, Milton Ncube was among mourners gathered at number 1976 Nketa 8 to pay their last respects.
“We played together and honestly, it is a big loss, not only to the family. We played together back before my stint at Highlanders and we were close,” Ncube said.
The late Ndoro, who was a twin to Takudzwa, now based in Botswana, is considered a rare gem to ever come out of Nketa as narrated by his childhood coach Joseph Nkomazana.
“I started training Tendai at a tender age and went through my ranks. We have lost as the football fraternity. He was a torchbearer for the suburb.”
The Ndoro family is now seized with repatriation efforts, working with the football fraternity across the Limpopo.
Family spokesperson and father to Tendai, Mutandwa Silas Mukundwa says details of how he died are still sketchy.
“We got a call that he was found dead in his apartment, and we are still to ascertain the cause, but as we speak, a meeting is underway in South Africa to repatriate his body.”
The late Ndoro leaves behind three children Laiza, Christiano and Mukundi.
Ndoro’s body has been taken to Zororo-Phumulani funeral parlour after forensics, where a funeral service will be held.
