Mashona land WEST -ZANU PF provincial structure in Mashonaland West has declared its preparedness to undertake the critical cell verification exercise set to commence this week, as part of the party’s restructuring and modernisation agenda.
The digital verification process will be led by the party’s Commissariat and the Department of Science and Technology, with an emphasis on accurate and tamper-proof data collection at the grassroots level.
In a PCC meeting held in Chinhoyi, Politburo member and Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, highlighted the strategic importance of the restructuring exercise.
“The Commissariat Department asked us to conduct an extraordinary PCC to prepare for our cell and villages verification exercise that allows us to know where our membership stands as ZANU PF. The party Commissariat Department directed us to restructure our cells and it was done. Now, the party wants us to do a verification exercise of the cells” he said.
Cde Ziyambi noted that similar exercises conducted in Harare and Bulawayo had revealed disparities between party structure integrity and electoral performance, particularly in Bulawayo, where weak structures contributed to underperformance in the 2023 harmonised elections.
“As such, I have directed the implementation of a robust, technology-driven mechanism to establish and maintain credible party structures. This includes the use of a mobile application that enables members to verify their status,” he added.
Mashonaland West Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, stated that the province had received a roadmap and was fully mobilised for the verification process.
“Our provincial leadership has been deployed to cover all seven administrative districts. The use of digital systems will strengthen structural integrity and eliminate any chances of tampering,” she said.
The ongoing restructuring and verification drive is part of ZANU PF’s broader objective to modernise its operations, enhance electoral readiness, and strengthen party cohesion from the grassroots upwards.
